Rebooting corrected the problem until the NAS could [eventually] no longer see the card. Days later, the NAS quit taking calls completely even though it was not registering errors, no trouble with the circuits and the unit still recognized the remaining modem card. I began to suspect a bad chassis, as well. I say "as well" because taking the bad card and putting it into a known working chassis -- could still not see the card.
